According to a Gallup study, only 30% of Americans are actively engaged in their work, meaning that less than one in three employees are connected with their jobs.
According to the same study, only 40% of employees know what their company stands for and how it differentiates itself from competitors.
And also mentioned in the same report is the research that employees who are actively engaged in their jobs can significantly impact business performance.
So two in three workers don’t have a tie to their jobs and six in 10 couldn’t tell you the purpose of their organization. When employees are engaged and know the purpose of a business, the business benefits.
For managers out there, stop focusing so much on results at the cost of context.
Having someone knowing why they are doing what they are doing helps.
